DesGraça

This artwork presents a striking blend of Fiona from Shrek and Graça Freitas, the former director of DGS (Portuguese Directorate-General of Health). The portrait, a peculiar fusion of two worlds, serves as a satirical commentary on Graça Freitas' initial statements during the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Bearing the caption "China is far far away" the artwork aims to critique Graça Freitas for her early assertion, among other things, that the virus was highly unlikely to reach Portugal.

Through humor and irony, the piece prompts reflection on the consequences of underestimating the global impact of the pandemic. DesGraça invites viewers to consider the complexities of leadership and the need for a vigilant and adaptable approach when facing unforeseen challenges in our interconnected world.
